Hi friends.
I decided to try a little experiment with resin (epoxy). Since our den is a fishing/hunting theme and we had various fishing accessories (lures, bobbers etc)
I wanted to make a deco item with epoxy and those accessories. I did not have a large silicone mold, so I used the next best thing. A 7″ metal cake pan 🙂
I lined the edges with a teflon sheet and silicone on the bottom. Added my decor items and poured the resin in. Then I waited 24 hours to take it out of the mold.
Let me tell you the struggle. It was not easy to come out the pan, so I took two screw drivers against the pan to create a pocket of air, then the resin piece popped out.
I had to do a little bit of sanding around the edges, but I love how it turned out. It is not perfect, but I think that is what makes lit looks so nice!

I added some beads. lures, bobbers, dried flowers, and fishing line to the epoxy. I love that it is not a perfect circle and that you can see bubbles in the resin. Usually bubbles are a bad thing, in this case, the bubbles were perfect!

This is a close up of the fishing line I added and some of the flowers. Since I used a teflon sheet, the sides look a little foggy and show the impression of the teflon design.
I will have the hubby take a belt sander to it and this should fix the issue. I will make a stand for it with my laser, Here is a closer look at the edging.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great day! Hugs, Stacy
