Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Do you have scrap wood laying around? If you are like us, you probably have some here and there. Well go ahead and grab a piece and make this super simple Christmas Holiday Decor with me!
So this is the first side, did I mention it was double sided? Let me share what I did. Had the hubby spray paint the wood for me, so much faster than using a brush 🙂 Then I took scrapbook paper (this is a cream color with red dots) adhered that to the wood using modpodge. I make my own by mixing 2 parts glue to one part water, works just as well as the expensive brand!
You want to apply a THIN layer of the modpodge to the wood, then apply your paper. Reapply the modpodge over the paper (again a thin layer). If you find any air bubbles, dip your finger into the modpodge and push the bubbles out!
I did both sides of the wood the same way, let the one side dry first.
Then, I went into Cricut Design Space. and created a template that was the size of my paper. Found some designs I liked and just like that we have DIY Christmas Decor!
Here is the other side.
I did both sides with Christmas sayings, you can certainly do each side different. To apply the lettering, I used card stock, again apply a thin layer of the modpodge to the paper, put the lettering down, I pounced over the lettering with my foam brush first to help hold it down, then I brushed over the entire thing. Let one side dry and repeat for the other side!
Hope you will give it a try, it is super easy. I left mine plain and did not add any 3d elements, because I find it easier to store this way and I don’t have to worry about them falling off!
