Today is our Pinterest Inspired Project. This is a slider box, or a matchbox box!
I am a big fan of making boxes, especially this time of year. This one is perfect for holding some pens, small trinkets or some candy. It measures a little over 2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long and about 1/2 inch tall.
Slider Box Measurement Card Stock: 6.5 x 5.5 (on the 6 1/2 side score at 1 1/4, 1 3/4, 3 7/8 and 4 3/8) Card Stock: 3 x 7.5 (on the 3 side score at 1/2 each side) ( on the 7 1/2 side, score at 1/2 and 1 each end) Paper for inside & outside: 1 7/8 x 5 3/8 For the box: crease all score marks. cut up the 2nd score line on each end. Remove all 4 corners. To create a finger notch, fold up the score lines on each short end, use a 3/4 inch punch, to punch circle. You are punching through 2 layers of card stock here. Slightly angle the 4 tabs. Apply glue on tabs and adhere to side of box to create the box. Apply glue to the part you punched out, then fold in towards the box. For the sleeve: Fold on all score lines. Apply adhesive to the 1 1/4 scored area, Fold to other side to assemble sleeve.
HERE is the pin that inspired this project. I did make a few changes to the box itself. I first made the box as the pin showed, then changed it up a little bit.
